Monday
Today Rowandale School kicked off Niue Language Week with a flag ceremony.

We had 10 students read out facts about Niue.

Brianna then read the meaning of the Niuean Flag.

Mr Vasau and Brianna then raised the Niuean Flag as the whole school sang the Niuean National Anthem.

Miss Fuataga and Mr Vasau then spoke to the school. They both shared their knowledge and experience of what it means to them to be Niuean.

Friday
Today we celebrated Niue Language Week with a special school assembly.

We had Amber who was the former Miss Niue join us as our special guest.

This is her item she performed for us.

We also had a wonderful visit from Malcom Lakatani, who is an amazing Niuean musician.

Mr Vasau and Miss Fuataga also performed a traditional war dance for the school.

As part of this weeks celebration for Niue Language Week, students of Rowandale School participated in weaving. Weaving mats, bags and hats is a tradition in the islands of Niue.

Thank you very much to everyone who made this week a huge success. A special Fakaue Lahi to Miss Fuataga, Miss Tukuitonga, Mr Vasau and their wonderful Niuean Langauge Week team for all their wonderful work.

Fakaue lahi students of Rowandale School for participating in our Niuean Language Week 2015.
